It’s an honor to have you here John. Thank you for accepting our invitation for a short interview. First, can you give us a short overview of your company’s history and the people behind it?

Frontpoint was founded in a basement by three home security experts. They wanted to create a home security company that was customer service focused with cutting edge technology. By staying true to our vision, Frontpoint has earned a reputation for offering world-class service. Frontpoint was founded in 2007 by a team of home security experts. At that moment, what were Frontpoint’s goals and were you able to achieve those goals? What were your milestones as a company for the last 9 years?

We wanted to create a product that was safer and simpler so we decided to only offer 100% cellular and wireless systems. From there we set out to design a very simple, self-installed security system to protect families and homes. Our other main focus was to offer great service that you can trust. Because of these things,96% of our customers would recommend us to their friends and family, and we have been awarded the Angie’s List Super Service award five years in a row. We also rank in the top 3 for new monthly customer additions. Nine years ago we ranked 13,000!

Based on the 9 years you’ve been in the industry, what do you think has changed with home security over the years? Why is it necessary to have one installed in your home?

Recently the industry has taken a turn toward smarthome and home automation solutions. Not only are customers interested in protecting their homes, but they want to control their door locks, lights and thermostats. We constantly evaluate new products to add to our product line. With the recent rise of crime rates, a home security system has become a necessity. It has become an important investment.

Do you mind giving us a brief idea of what Frontpoint has to offer?

We’re all about service like it used to be. You used to be able to trust the service providers you worked with. Somewhere along the line that trust started to break down and we are doing our part to bring it back by providing world class customer service. In addition to the service we have a great product line up as well. We offer everything from door and window sensors, to light controls and cameras.

I see that you have a variety of plans offered in your website. Could you give us a quick breakdown of those plans and the target audience for each of them?

Our most popular plan is our Interactive Monitoring plan. This plan features the ability to connect with your home using a smartphone which our customers love. Also included in this plan is Alarm.com’s patented Crash and Smash protection, which helps keeps our customers safer. For those looking for standard home monitoring service, we also have Protection Monitoring. Lastly, for those looking to maximize their features, we have Ultimate Monitoring, which has all the bells and whistles (and protection) that smarthome owners want.

If I were a potential customer and I want to start with a basic plan? Which plan would you recommend? Which plan do you think has the best value for money?

When comparing apples to apples, all of our service plans provide great features for great value, always keeping customers’ peace of mind first and foremost. Most of our customers choose to have Interactive Monitoring. The ability to stay connected with your system 24/7 is fulfilled with smartphone accessand desired by most everyone. For those interested in home automation, we also offer light control with this plan, which is something our competitors include in higher cost service plans.

I know this must be a common question among the non-techie people, but could you explain how security systems work? How do you set them up? What’s the advantage of having them wireless?

It all starts with a simple phone call to one of our Security Consultants. They will help you design a system to support your lifestyle. Most of those professionally installed security systems will be configured based on how your house is built and then once it’s installed it’s not going anywhere. We consider how you live in your house when building a system to make sure your system supports your natural day-to-day activities. Once you have configured the system, we ship it to you via Fed Ex and with our step-by-step guide, you set-up the system yourself. Then you give our customer care team a call and they will reassure you that you did a great job and activate your system for you all in about 20-30 minutes!

With the growing number of burglaries every year, how do you assure your customers their safety? What are Frontpoint’s special features? How do you keep thousands of customers in the US safe and happy?

Customers can rest assured that their Frontpoint system is 100 % wireless and 100% cellular, making it virtually undefeatable. With Crash and Smash, your home is even protected if an intruder smashes your control panel. If you still need reassurance, our customer care team is happy to test the system with you over the phone to verify everything is working correctly. For added control and peace of mind, customers who have interactive services can setup text or email notifications. We’ve checked online and Frontpoint has really great reviews. You have been doing a fantastic job of keeping families safe. What do you think is Frontpoint’s strongest trait? What makes Frontpoint better than the rest of the competition?

We’re very proud of the reviews our customers share online. We’ve eclipsed 13,000 online reviews recently, of which 90% are positive. I don’t think our competitors can say that. We even have a dedicated Reputation Team that handles and responds to every single review, and we’re pretty proud of that.
